i get a certificate error when i try and instal bt.sisx

I can confirm that this has worked for my N95 8GB (on the second attempt anyway) You need to uninstall any tomtom mobile software you have already, then follow the steps above.
- the 3.tomtom is the acutall installer for the tomtom software, it dosent just modify it to work with your internal GPS.

Hey mate, thanks a lot for this. I’ve been searching and searching for so many foruns, etc, and this was the only one that is working correctly. I’m using an external GPS receiver, so dont no yet if internal is working properly, but will try one time to check it.
To Daniel Butler, please visit this: http://www.gforum.tv/board/1505/177832/varios-mapas-tomtom.html -» there’s a lot of maps for TomTom (all countries i think…)
Cheers !

If your having problems with binda gps picking up a signal, try turning off (or maybe it’s on can’t remember) the bluetooth setting in MENU/TOOLS/SETTINGS/GENERAL/POSITIONING/POSITIONING METHODS I did this and the internal gps picked up a signal in tom tom straight away!

One thing you must do is be patient,it can take a while
For the GPS signal to be picked up,i was about to give up
And Hey Presto it was there.

Hi,
I was also struggling for last few days to get the signals but finaly tomtom is up and running. Just follow the above steps and make sure to goto tools/settings/general/positioning/positioning methods and only enable assisted GPS and Integrated GPS(DISABLE bluetooth GPS and network based). Now open GPSD and wait for signals and hide once u get them and open the tomtom and yes to bluetooth question. Go to Menu then press 5,6,6,6,1. Then press configure , select other BT GPS RECIEVER, then select BINPDA GPS from the appeared list and press done. Then u should b good to go where u want ,using ur tomtom
Once again thanks for this awesome software and all ur above comments to get this working

ihave installed this many many times and get the same every time, in gpsd app, latitude=0, longitude=0, clients=1, error=none, debug.
i have stood outside for 20mins and still no valid gps signal. i think its just a myth, i have done this on my n73, n95 and n95 8gb and i have encountered exactly the same every single time with multiple installs on each phone

Wesley have u tried doing “goto tools/settings/general/positioning/positioning methods and only enable assisted GPS and Integrated GPS(DISABLE bluetooth GPS and network based). Now open GPSD and wait for signals”. This is what made mine working

Great it works, but when gpsd is ran it uses wap 1kb sent and 4kb of data received every couple of hours, if I try to say no to using network then tomtom will not find gps device. How can I use this without wap usage?

Hi All,
I am having the issue with TomTom just saying “Connecting to GPS Device” and never connecting. Any one found out a solution to this? I have followed all the instructions and played round with it lots but still had no luck. GPSD connects and gets a Lat & Long. Click Hide. Open up TomTom and choose GPSD (I get a option when TomTom opens up) but the little blue tooth symbol next to GPSD option is grey - Should it be blue?
Also tried another install of TomTom and GPSd but with that install when I select GPSD it crashes TomTom. DOH! So I have come back to this slightly better.. but still not working version that just never connects.
Thanks

Also…
To Bleep Bleep.
Look at Alam’s post a couple up and try disable assisted GPS. Maybe that will stop the data usage. Maybe not tho.
Comment on November 12th, 2008.
I have tried switching off “assisted GPS” and tried Alam’s method, but GPSd does not find anything. Does anyone else have this problem mentioned above on my first post.
If everything is switched on other than Bluetooth GPS then it does work.
ARE YOU BEING CHARGED FOR USING GPSD ???????
Have look at your log - and then scroll across and see if data is being sent and received.

guys if you have Garmin or an other navigation software on your phone start garmina(or other software) and then start gpsd. The Garmin will find your position very fast like always and then switch to gpsd where you will see that gpsd has also the position, switch Garmin off and start TomTom. Do the configuration like recommended in this forum and you will get the signal.
The trick is to use the first time a Navigation software which is positioning the gps antenna ins short time. Then you can run the gpsd to read the data from the antenna. Have fun.
You will need only to start Garmin the first or even the second time, later on you will find with gpsd the position in seconds without Garmin.
TOMTOM is GREAT on my N95
Comment on November 19th, 2008.
Yes, But I think the problem is that TOMTOM says can not find a GPS Device unless you choose yes to Both when starting up GPSD.
Also Found the solution to my “CONNECTING TO GPS DEVICE” issue….. I aquired a different copy of Tom Tom 6.02 software and it started working! Try that if you keep getting the above message when running TomTom.

Help… I have had TomTom 6 working successfully using the internal GPS on my N95 8gb for several months, but have just updated to the latest firmware release (V 30.0.18_23-07-08_RM-320), and now TomTom does not work. I have deleted all folders off my phone, reinstalled it several times with the same problem! When you try to run TomTom all I get is a spinning globe! Any ideas, or has Nokia performed some underhand tweaks to the phone software release?
