This firmware upgrade is great for the n80.

Had no problems doing the upgrade and is working 100% with all the extras of the n80ie.

Just a thought, is it possible to go back to standard N80 because I’m sure nokia has realised what people are doing and may integrate something to stop it in the next N80IE firmware, and we’d be stuck. Any ideas?

Had no problem updating N80 (originally HK edition, updated to Euro 1 using NSS and Nokia Software Update Tool) to N80ie. One post-update side-effect, though. The Talking Dictionary that was pre-installed on the miniSD card (HK edition) stopped ‘talking’, i.e. the dictionary app works fine, except that the word pronunciation is somehow broken. Anyone else using the Talking Dictionary (Eng-Eng/Chinese-Eng-Chinese) from mbounce.com having better luck after N80ie upgrade?

Megaupload sucks big time. First time I came across it on this site and it is unbelievable, I can’t believe you keep using the site (unless you’re getting paid for it that is).

If you want to send me the firmware file I’ll host it on my site, no bells, whistles and cheeky timers.

No, I’m not being paid for megaupload. I’ve never had a problem with it (as opposed to RapidShare!). I haven’t uploaded these files so don’t have all of the originals. If you need to find them, search the net for alternatives.

You can upgrade to the N80IE edition by installing Phoenix:
http://www.seventy4.co.uk/weblog/2006/11/02/how-to-install-phoenix/

and downloading the firmware:
http://www.seventy4.co.uk/weblog/2006/12/01/download-n80-internet-edition-firmware/

You might need to source the files if the links do not work.
