Upgraded mine to the EURO 1 Black Version (Product Code: 0539363)

Worked great. Here’s some screenshots. VOIP is now a part of the OS. I’m going to update a friend’s phone with the firmware later and test out the VOIP. There’s a new “Download!” application which has new free applications like Zip Mananger, WLAN Wizard which appears on the active standby, and Gizmo VOIP.

could you write up a description of how you got from the original n80 to the n80ie? i followed the nss method you detailed below, but i’m not getting any updates (i assume nokia has simply not put them up yet), so how did you get the internet edition software loaded?

I went with Euro 2 Bronze model, (anyone know what’s the difference between them). Took me a couple of hours to get VOiP working but it seems to hang when trying to register my sip account. Also be careful with Yahoo Go! It sent a text message without asking me. One of the many great options is that I can now hide my wireless hub (switch off broadcasting) and the N80 will still connect. Podcastings works a treat as well, using my internet connection I was able to download a few video podcasts and watch them with out a hitch.
UPDATE: using the bulitin Gizmo VOiP client I made me first internet call! This is why I bought the N80 in the first place.
Now if I can only get the battery to last more than a day and I’ll be laughing!

Hello,
have you did your upgrade to n80ie by changing the productcode and using the nsu, or by phoenix?

Also just flashed my N80 to N80IE with EURO 1 Black Version

Also, do you know if it’s possible to install nokia PC Suite over the top of Phoenix yet retain Phoenix functionality?

I used Phoenix to flash my phone to N80IE. NSU does not have the updates on there at the moment. I have also got PC Suite running along side Phoenix without any issues. I always close any PC Suite applications before flashing, just in case.

There’s no difference between the bronze/black products.

It’s taken me ages to get VOIP working - turns out it was my router.

I need to use french language in mine, can you tell me whether the euro 1 product code 0539363 also allows for french in the settings or is it only in english ?

What if you try to update with “Dev. Mgr.” after flashing your N80 with N80IE firmware? WIll it update back to original N80 firmware or to IE?
Do you lose all the data, settings etc. when flashing with phoenix or diego?

It will search for updates to the IE firmware. Yes you will lose all your settings when flashing. Best to do a backup first!

Ahhh, that’s a pain in the a$$ installing all the software over again.
But it will update properly to the next IE firmware when it’s out without losing any data right?

Now I’m also a proud owner of N80IE.
Used the NSS+GSM hack+NSU to upgrade.

Now, Nokia Software Updater, update Nokia N80 to Nokia N80 Internet Edition without any tricks.

The version 4.0632.0.38 will be installed in both IE end not-IE.
