is there any chance you could create an idiots guide to installing tomtom6 on the n80? i have done so using (ahem!) ripped copy, the application loads, asks me to choose voice and the set preferencess, however i had to get the maps from a different source, dropped aload of files into the root of my mmc, but the app still says no maps found. spent about 20hours trying to suss it out and its doing my head in. any help greatly appreciated

ps tomtom 6 can be obtained from thios wicked site..http://www.series60v3.com along with loads of others and stacks of games

cheers

ps, sorry first time i have seen this site and posted originally in wrong area.

You need to check you have ALL of the files for the map in the map folder. I missed one .mid file from the folder and it said no maps found. Make sure you’re showing hidden files in windows when you’re copying the map over..

Hi, I’ve just purchased TomTom6 for use with my N95 and a bluetooth GPS receiver but was wondering how easy it is to transfer the files from the provided Mini SD card to my 1gb Micro SD card? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Also does TomTom6 work with the internal GPS receiver??
Thanks :-)

The current TomTom version DOESN’T work with the built in GPS unit, but works fine with a bluetooth receiver. The speed also seems a lot faster than on the N80.

You’ll need to copy a bunch of folders over to your memory card, some of these folders might be hidden (e.g. system and private). copy everything over to the root folder of the memory card and you should be fine. To copy, either put the card into a card reader and connect that to your PC, or hook your N95 up to the computer with the USB lead and select “Data Transfer” to bring up the Memory card as another disk on your PC.

Installed TomTom 6 and GB + Western Europe Maps on my N80 relatively painlessly. Dragged everything required to a TomTom folder in the root of my new 2GB miniSD card.

For the maps, i obtained the TomTom6 Maps DVD, and the software on it recognised my miniSD card as a device, and it installed all the maps to the necessary root folders without intervention.

Im waiting for my Bluetooth GPS receiver to arrive, then I shall be roving the World !!! ;)

Hi Guys and Girls.

For an n80, yes just change your date to an earlier year.
Copy the tomtom.sis (or whatever it is) file to your memory card. Or install in from your PC via the nokia suite.

Then, to get your maps working, create a directory for the maps to go in. I believe TOMTOM will find the map files itself.

For extra voices, just dump them in the tomtom directory you made when installing the program - as per the download instructions.

You can also get maps from all around the world in here.
It’s in arabic, but it worked for me.

I hope this helps.

ok guys there is a full cracked working copy of the tom tom 6 on potuk.com with the eu maps and gb maps, all working, if you get the EXPIRED CERTIFICATE problem just change the date on your phone to 26/11/2006 then reboot and install, ive installed this copy on mi n73 and a mates n80, you’ll still need a gps bluetooth receiver for all the phones including the n95 which are about a tenner from ebay, any sort will do,

For those with expired certificate or splash screen that does not change follow these instructions CAREFULLY:
REMEMBER BEFORE STARTING
1. FORMAT YOUR MEMORY CARD (MASS MEMORY IN N95 8GB) by going into your Nokia’s setting
2. AND YOUR PHONE’S MEMORY AS WELL BY *#7370#
then follow these instructions:

Dear all,

I am kindly asking for your support! I have Nokia N95 and I instal TomTom and it works with no problems, but when my friend asked me to put my TomTom to his Nokia N95 8GB I did install it in the same way that I did in my Nokia.

I install step by setp as you can see in “YourTube” but when I add device it work, when I check for signal it work and when I try to run TomTom is only loading but no way to open. Can you tell me what can be wrong? Please can you send me your ideas at my e-mail: dberisha@yahoo.com

Just updated my firmware on a one year old N95 and had the certificate issue so thanks for the date trick it works. Running TomTom v6.02 no problem. Here’s a tip and this is where I got my version, go to a computer fair usually there are guys there selling cracked programmes, the one I went to near the NEC he was doing 5 for £10 and when you get progs like Naturally speaking and other progs over a gig it aint worth chasing after a download. Got the splash screen issue but I can live with that
