I’ve not tried the instructions in the link above as my slider is pretty solid (and I’m not brave enough!). But if you follow the full instructions and pictures at http://web.mac.com/the_reamer/iWeb/freestyle/Message%20Board/9C04C0E7-357E-4648-9585-42BDAEF72CB4.html you should be able to stiffen up the slider.
Good luck!

Hi,
just wondering if you had this site saved, or cached or anything, because it seems to be down now and I cannot find anything anywhere else on the web!
cheers,

Dear Sir or Madam,
Could you possibly tell me where I can find instructions for replacing nokia n80’s numeric keypad on the bottom? What tool do I need for removing and replacing the keypad?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Shin

OK. I too am having issues with the slider, seems a lot of people have the same problem. Im kinda brave (or stupid) when it comes to taking things to bits. I removed the front cover , removed the plate by the screen. Popped the screen out of the way and undid four screws under the screen. I hoped to find the slider mechansim. I cannot see any way of tightning it up. It is just two small angle plates which grip the top section at 90 degrees. As long as they are tight, the phone should be ok. Sorry for the bad news guys.
